DANCE

Rosalynne Boothroyd

As an international adjudicator and theatrical dance examiner for the British dancing Association, my adjudicating work has taken me to all states in Australia and recently I have adjudicated in New Zealand and Great Britain. Over the past 24 years I have adjudicated over 85 Eisteddfods.

As well as being a former professional dancer, my training has included the RAD, SATD, ATD, EDTA and the British Dancing Association. I was appointed to the examination board of the British Dancing Association in 1983 examining classical ballet, tap dancing, jazz ballet and modern dance. I was made a life member of the BDA in 1999.

Enjoying what you do is an integral part of any working day. I enjoy adjudicating and I take pleasure in giving encouragement and constructive criticism to all dancers no matter what standard they are. Dance is for the enjoyment of all people no matter what their age and I class dance not just an art but as a sport.

I am president and a foundation member of the Australian Dance Adjudicators Association Inc.(Est 1993) We strive the give the theatrical dance adjudicators of Australia recognition of their qualifications, we run training and refresher courses and endeavor to lift the standard of theatrical dance adjudicating in Australia.

MUSIC

Marian Fellows

Marian Fellows has been singing with children for over 35 years.  She believes strongly that music needs to be a part of every child’s education; that each child needs to find a way to express the music within their heart: with song or using an instrument.  As parents and educators she feels it is our responsibility to offer opportunities to our children and to not discourage them when they might fall short of our expectations.

Marian is a qualified teacher and has taught in the US and in Townsville, but discovered that music and song brought a better way of teaching love, values, language and joy, so she now gives herself to this endeavour full time.

Marian is a member of APRA and has recorded 3 CDs of original songs.  A fourth collection of songs has been recorded and is available, along with the others, on her website http://music.forgottenplanet.com
